Prospective college students from Laois will have the opportunity to experience educational facilities and explore the areas of study at the upcoming SETU Spring Open Day, just down the road at the Carlow campus.

SETU says the day offers students the chance to learn more about the different courses, modules and employment opportunities available before finalising their CAO applications.

A statement to the Leinster Express/Laois Live said students can hear directly from SETU lecturers, course leaders and student support staff, on areas like accommodation, sports, scholarships, course content and admissions.

It said attendees from Laois schools will have the chance to join a tour of the campus and experience SETU’s facilities with representation from SETU’s sports clubs and societies, prospective students can gain insight into life as a university student.

Scheduled talks will be held throughout the day, each aimed at helping answer any potential questions surrounding key areas of university life. Student support staff will be on hand to answer questions on the CAO, how to apply, and much more.

Lecturing staff from each of SETU’s career-focused courses will be available to answer questions and share insights into the different programmes.

“We are delighted to welcome students and their families to our Spring Open Day during this very important time. We understand that choosing where to study is a big decision and our aim is to help make that decision easier. We want to give students first-hand experience of the great opportunities on offer at SETU. There will be talks, tours, and demonstrations throughout the day, so come along with your friends and family, and ask any questions you may have. We are here to help,” she said.
