Portlaoise Liverpool fans and music fans enjoyed a great Champions League night in aid of Portlaoise Educate Together NS Parents Association, despite the soccer result.
Portlaoise band Transmitter put on a stomping gig in aid of the school, at the The Office Bar & Venue on May 26, and managed to raise close to €3,000.
Tickets sold out to the venue in advance, with 21 prizes from local businesses adding to the fun in a monster raffle.
Along with soccer fans, staff and parents from the school, Transmitter fans, the Laois Men's football team and people from the town and local community all came to support the event and danced the night away.
It was the school's second year to run the event with the accompaniment of Dave Finn from The Office Bar.
A total of €2855 was collected on the night.
The school are delighted with the success of the event and are delighted to host a community event with encompasses the school's ethos of inclusion.
Siobhan Mannion is from the Parent's Association.
"This event has taken off this year, it is proving to be hugely successful and is building momentum and a reputation. Who knows where it will go in 2019, the only way is up," she said.
