Pat Scully has been announced as the man to take charge of the Portlaoise AFC Senior team. Scully comes into the job to replace Portlaoise native Darren Rogers, who had taken charge of Portlaoise throughout this season.
Scully brings a wealth of experience to the role as he has previously won the First Division in the League of Ireland with the now disbanded Limerick FC and most notably Shamrock Rovers.
As a player, Pat is a FA Youth Cup winner with English Premier League side Arsenal. He has also represented the Republic of Ireland at international level while also winning the League of Ireland, an FAI Cup and PFAI Players’ Player of the Year Award at Shelbourne. He also has almost 200 appearances for Huddersfield Town and Southend United.
He comes into the job having taken charge of Monread FC in the 2022/2023 season. His first game as Portlaoise boss will come in their prestigious FAI Cup First Round clash with Skerries Town in Rossleighan Park on July 22.
