Gracefield banished the memories of their previous week’s loss to Dynamo Town with a resounding win over Ballybrittas in Portarlington on Sunday morning.
The hosts were always on top in this one, and they could well have added three or four more without any complaints from Ballybrittas who battled hard as always but are still struggling to cope with the loss of several key players to other clubs during the summer months.
For a while it looked like it was going to one of those days for Gracefield as they battered the Ballybrittas goal for almost the entirety of the opening forty five minutes but just couldn’t find a way past Padraig Bannon in the Ballybrittas goal.
Ciaran Wilmott, Eoghan Gleeson and Eamon Kelly all spurned decent chances for the home side as they poured forward at every opportunity thanks to a fine all-round performance from midfield playmaker John Knight.
