LGBT+ Midland teams up for soccer in Portlaoise

Portlaoise AFC has teamed up with the Midlands LGBT+ Project for Pride 5-a-side Football supported by the Laois Sports Partnership. 

The Midlands LGBT+ Project invites people to join us for a month of "fun-filled evenings of football" at the soccer club at Rosleighan in Portlaoise.

"Lace up your boots, grab your rainbow gear, and get ready to show off your skills on the pitch," say the organisers.

This sports event is open to both individual sign-ups and preassembled teams.

"Whether you're a seasoned pro or just looking to have a kick about with friends, everyone is welcome to join; no skills required just abit of fun.

Laois Pride Parade 2022 in Portlaoise.

The event at the club grounds just off the Mountmellick Road gets underway on Tuesday, June 3 at 7pm. Subsequent games take place on June 17 and 24 starting at the same times. You can sign up at eventbrite HERE.

The Midlands LGBT+ project is a support organisation covering Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Kildare which aims is to reduce isolation, provide support and a community to LGBT+ People across the Midlands.

They say they offer a range of adult support groups, from trans groups, bookclubs to coffee meet up’s. They also offer a range of training options to suit all schools, organisations and community groups and we run incredible events throughout the year like Laois Pride.
