The Rehab Group are an independent voluntary organisation providing services and support for people with disabilities and their families for more than 70 years.

Our work positively impacts the lives of over 10,000 people with disabilities, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and self-belief to achieve their expressed goals.

We are now recruiting for an experienced Bus Driver who will transport clients as required in a responsible and safe manner maintaining the highest standard of driving, in accordance with a National Driving School and the Department of Environment competency examination.

The role is permanent with approximately 18.5 hours per week, located at; Dublin Rd, Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 HK11.

Minimum Education & Experience required:

  • Category Irish D1 Full Clean Driving licence
  • Current valid Drivers CPC Card
  • Disability awareness and experience of transporting passengers with limited mobility or who use wheelchairs is desirable.
  • Relevant Occupational experience
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant driving experience

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the rules of the road at all times making sure that the passengers are all safely seated i.e. by ensuring the use of seat belts and clamps.
  • Maintain the vehicle in a safe and roadworthy manner, always making sure it is in a clean and hygienic condition.
  • Ensure that the customer / client is satisfied.
  • Assisting the client on and off the vehicle using appropriate lifting techniques.

Additional requirements:

  • As part of our recruitment process, if applicable, candidates will be required to provide a Police certificate from the countries they have resided prior coming to Ireland.
  • A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign.
