Sasta Skin Health happy with crucial enterprise support from Local Enterprise Office

Sásta Skin Health  launched into the market in April 2022

Sásta Skin Health  launched into the market in April 2022. Michelle McDonald and her cosmetic chemist  business partner Dr Brian O Rourke  working from a laboratory in the annex of her farmhouse in County Laois developed a microbiome booster serum that nourishes the skins microbiome and supports the skin's immunity from damage wrought by our congested climate and harsh skincare ingredients.

After three and a half years of dedicated effort, they unveiled the groundbreaking Sásta Microbiome Booster Serum.

Sásta Skin Health is an award-winning microbiome supportive skin health range focusing on feeding and supporting the skin microbiome topically as part of any skincare regime. Their hero product, the Microbiome Booster Serum is packed with a blend of prebiotic and postbiotic ingredients to optimise skin health. Since their launch in April 2022, they have expanded the markets they serve to Ireland and the UK. Initially launching on their DTC channel, they increased their distribution to serve B2B customers including skin clinics and dermatology clinics  and in leading pharmacies and health stores.

Sásta Skin Health is a proud Guaranteed Irish brand and is the only beauty product in Ireland certified as ‘MyMicrobiome Friendly’. MyMicrobiome is an independent control body that rigorously tests products for their impact on the skin’s microbiome. Sásta Skin Health have been awarded ‘Best Eco Serum’ by Hi Style, ‘Best Serum for Repairing’ by Social and Personal, and came ‘Highly Commended’ in the Irish Made Awards. They have also featured on Ireland AM and RTE’s The Today Show. Next steps for Sásta Skin Health include New Product Development continuing their focus on microbiome supportive products along with expanding the team to support their mission of protecting your body’s natural armour.

Michelle connected with the Local Enterprise Office right at the beginning of their brand's research and development phase. She participated in various training programs and secured funding through initiatives such as the Innovation Voucher Programme, Priming Grant, New Frontiers Programme 2 and, Trading Online voucher, Business Expansion Grant, and Mentorship. The assistance and guidance from the Laois Local Enterprise Office have been crucial to our brand's growth and success. The Local Enterprise Office plays a vital role in our community driving job creation. It is a key element for businesses to be part of the local enterprise hub for guidance and mentorship.
