Portlaoise and Portarlington join up for 'Battle of Laois'

Portlaoise and Portarlington join up for 'Battle of Laois'

Portarlington RFC and Portlaoise RFC will contest 'The Battle of Laois' this weekend.

This is a fundraiser for both clubs and will become an annual event. It will involve every team in both clubs from U-7s up to the senior teams, minis, youths boys and girls, and senior men and women.

The day will commence this year in Portarlington RFC at 10.30am on 17th September and run right through to 7.30pm. One point is awarded to the club for a win and ½ point for a draw whichever club has accumulated the most points at the end of the day will win 'The Battle of Laois'.

Each player, coach, supporter, member etc that goes through the gate will pay €2, this money will then be split between the two clubs. There will be a BBQ and a bouncy castle running during the day. A disco in the clubhouse will round off proceedings.

Please lend your support to two great rugby clubs in Laois.
