After another fiercely contested vote, we can now confirm the winner of our Sports Star of the Month award for November, in association with Downey's Auto Stop, Portlaoise.
With an impressive 54% of the poll, the winner is Sarah Fleming from Portlaoise, who was nominated for her outstanding commitment across a number of sports in November.
Early in the month, in the midst of a fixture clash, she played a basketball game in Dublin on a Sunday morning, hopped in a car at half time to travel to Ballacolla for the Laois minor camogie final, and then left straight after that game to go back to Dublin and play another basketball game.
She helped Portlaoise Panthers into a national cup quarter-final, and is also a regular on the Laois minor camogie team, as well as playing both football and camogie with Portlaoise.
Congratulations to her, and commiserations to our other nominees, Emma Hooban, Mary Mulhare and Tommy Fitzgerald.
