Second-half goals key as O'Dempsey's come from behind against Arles-Kilcruise

Laois Shopping Centre ACFL Division 1A

O'Dempsey's 3 - 13

Arles-Kilcruise 2 - 11

O'Dempsey's recovered from a disaster start to this fixture to draw level by half-time, and eventually run-out five-point victors over a battling Arles-Kilcruise side in Arles this evening.

O'Dempsey's picked up their second win of the campaign with this victory, while Arles-Kilcruise remained glued to the bottom of the table with their fourth successive loss.

O'Dempsey's shipped 1-4 in the opening eleven minutes, scoring just two points themselves in that period before recovering well to close the gap to two with twenty minutes played. A finally rally before the interval proved fruitful as a timely goal leveled the proceedings at 1-6 apiece at the whistle.

The sides exchanged points on the restart with Arles-Kilcruise still remaining narrowly in front before two goals in as many minutes swung the tie in O'Dempsey's favour. Mark Barry set the ball rolling with a well-taken goal and then Shane Nerney crashed home their second to give them a six-point lead with thirteen minutes to go.

Arles-Kilcruise replied almost instantly with Chris Conway grabbing his second goal of the week having clinched one against St Joseph's on Tuesday night, but O'Dempsey's held strong to seal a five-point victory.
