LAOIS’ take from National League dividends are down this year it emerged at the July meeting of the County Board on Monday night.
In 2012 the county received €8,280 as its share of the hurling dividends and €29,029 as a football dividend. Treasurer Martin Byrne noted that while the share of the hurling dividend was roughly the same as 2011, the football dividend had dropped by in the region of €20,000. He explained that this was due to the fact that Laois had been in a league final in 2011 while further noting that the figure was in line with that received in 2010.
It was also outlined how the Fight Night had generated €21,913 while the final figure for the Golf Classic is expected to exceed €11,000.
