There are several dates areas should keep in mind for the coming weeks - County Talent Finals Saturday April, 12; Collection Days Friday, April 4 at Supervalu Stradbally, May 2/3 at Dunne’s Stores, Kyle Centre. The next county meeting will take place on Monday 7 April.

The chess county finals took place in Mountmellick GAA on Friday, March 21. Teams - Mountmellick, Emo/Rath, Stradbally and Arles.

sLaois Community games held the finals of the U-10 and U-13 Indoor Soccer on Sunday, March 16.

The results of the boys U-10 indoor soccer were as follows: Match 1: Emo/Rath 1 Stradbally 0; Match 2: Ballinakill 1 Stradbally 1; Match 3: Emo/Rath 3 Ballinakill 2. Emo/Rath emerged as the winners

The Play-off for second and third between Ballinakill and Stradbally ended 1-1. Still deadlocked after extra time it went to penalties. After five penalties it was still deadlocked at 3-3 but Ballinakill eventually won 5-4 in sudden death penalties.

Results of U-13 were: Match 1: Emo/Rath 4 Stradbally 0; Match 2: Ballinakill 3 Emo/Rath 3; Match 3: Stradbally 1 Ballinakill 3. Play-off for 1st and 2nd between Emo/Rath and Ballinakill ended 4-3 in

favour of Emo/Rath. Stradbally finished 3rd.


Emo/Rath recently held their Talent and art competitions.

Well done to all who took part in the recent County Chess Final which took place in the GAA Hall, Mountmellick.

The next event is the County Talent Final which is in the Arts Centre Mountmellick on Saturday, April 12 from 10am. Taking part for the Mountmellick Area we have: Siobhan McEvoy, Grainne Lalor, Leah Tarpey, and Caoimhe Guinan, Emma Dunne and Emer Comerford in the group dance; Eille Lalor in the solo singing; Keeva Gallagher doing recitation; Declan White and Tiernan Morris in solo music;Neol Stapleton, Decan White and Conor White in group music.
