Four members of the Portlaoise Kettlebell Club travelled to Tramore, Waterford on February 8 and 9 to take part in the All-Ireland Kettlebell Championships, and each took gold in their respective categories.
Dermot O’Neill completed 64 repetitions in the Long Cycle, with 24kg Kettlebells; to secure his gold medal. Mags Magee completed 100 repetitions, in the Snatch, with a 16kg Kettlebell.
Ger Magee then completed 73 repetitions, Long Cycle, with 20kg Kettlebells, while the fourth club member to travel, Geraldine Lannigan, completed 134 repetitions, Long Cycle, with 8kg Kettlebells.
On top of this great achievement at national level, Dermot and Mags qualified once again for the Irish Kettlebell Team. They will represent Ireland in the International Kettlebell Championships in May. Well done to all four club members.
