Laois Offaly Gardaí have compiled a list of all of the parades and start times across the two counties.
The list includes fourteen parade start times and locations across Laois on Monday, March 17 and Rathdowney’s St Patrick’s Day Parade which takes place a day earlier on Sunday, March 16.
Members of the public are being asked to follow the instructions of gardaí,to be mindful of road closures and to arrive early to get a good viewing spot.
The Laois Parades are as follows:
Rathdowney –Sunday, March 16, at 12 pm, starting from St. Fergal’s College.
The Heath – 8:45 am, starting from The Heath GAA Clubhouse.
Vicarstown – 9 am, from the bridge, leading to 9:30 am Mass.
Killeshin –9:15 am, assembly at the new school, proceeding to 10 am Mass .
Ballyroan – 10 am, following 9:30 am Mass.
Timahoe – 10 am, from the Community Centre, leading to 10:30 am Mass.
Spink – 9:30 am Mass, followed by a parade through the village.
Graiguecullen – 11 am, starting in Carlow Town Park, ending at St. Clare’s Church for 11:30am Mass.
Stradbally – 11 am, from Rathmore Road, leading to 11:30 am Mass.
Clonaslee – 12 pm, gathering at the Community Centre from 11 am.
Mountrath – 12 pm, starting from St. Fintan’s GAA grounds.
Portlaoise – 12:30 pm, parade leaves Laois County Council.
Mountmellick – 2 pm, starting from LOETB college, passing O’Connell Square.
Portarlington – 3pm, walking parade from Bank of Ireland to the People’s Park.
Rosenallis – 3:30 pm, vehicles assemble at Johnsgrove, walking groups at the Green School.
There are a further eight parades taking place across Offaly on St Patrick’s Day.
Offaly Parades:
Rhode parade 10am
Tullamore – 11:30 am, Main Street.
Mountbolus – 11 am, gathering from 10 am.
Clara – 12:30 pm, starts at Charlestown Bridge.
Daingean – 12 pm, from the Main Square.
Edenderry – 2:30 pm, Main Street.
Kilcormac – 3:30 pm, starting at KK GAA Field.
Banagher – 3 pm, parade down Main Street
Gardaí are urging people to “celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with joy, pride, and plenty of Irish spirit!”
