Rosenallis village at the foot of the beautiful Slieve Bloom Mountains in Laois is cleaning up ahead of their St Patrick's Day parade.

Residents are asked to come out and join in a clean-up this Saturday morning, March 15 so the village looks tip top for the parade.

"Join us at 9.45 at the Green School for cleaning, weeding and litter picking around the village. Every bit of help counts. Please bring secatuers, pruners, and trowels, and wear a high vis jacket and gloves for safety," the village development committee requests.

The Rosenallis parade is starting at 3.30pm on Monday, March 17. Vehicles are asked to meet at Johnsgrove at 3pm and walking groups to meet at the Green School.  See photos of the 2024 Rosenallis St Patrick's Day parade.

After the parade, all will gather at Rosenallis community centre where First, Second and Third prizes will be given for best participants on the day. All vintage entries will receive a plaque.

There will be dancing and singing with refreshments served from 3:50pm. Gorman School of Irish Dancing will perform along with the Malva Ukrainian Choir.
