A Laois business has announced that through the support of the public, they have successfully reunited valuable jewellery with its owner, who accidentally donated the goods.
Stradbally’s St Vincent de Paul shop put out an appeal on social media looking for help to identify the owner.
“Hi everyone. Some time ago, a jewellery box was donated to the SVP Stradbally shop. When we opened it, we found two valuable pieces of jewellery inside. We don’t think the person meant to donate them,” they stated in an online post.

“We believe the donor is from Athy, and we have the surname Quinn, but we don’t want to share the full name online. We just want to return the jewellery to the right person."
Staff at the store believed the items may not have come from Laois and could have come from neighbouring Kildare.
The post garnered attention online, with the Stradbally charity shop posting an exciting update.
"Update – Thank You!" the business said.
"We wanted to let everyone know that members of the family have now contacted us. Thank you to all who shared, commented, and helped spread the word. We’re genuinely speechless at the level of support — it really helped!" they finished.
