Tuesday: Wet and windy today as Storm Jocelyn tracks to the northwest of Ireland. Very strong and gusty southwesterly winds will develop through the day, with the strongest winds in the west and northwest and gales on coasts. Widespread outbreaks of rain with some heavy falls, will give way to scattered showers and a few brighter breaks from the west this afternoon. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.

Strong winds continuing for a time Tuesday night with the very strong and gusty southwest to west wind easing overnight. Clear spells and scattered showers at first, becoming isolated as the night goes on. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees.

Wednesday: Mainly dry to begin on Wednesday, apart from isolated showers in the northwest, with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. A few showers will break out mainly across the northern half of the country during the afternoon and evening. Moderate to fresh westerly winds in the north at first, light to moderate elsewhere, becoming light southerly everywhere later. Highest temperatures 8 to 10 degrees.

National Outlook
Rain in the southwest on Wednesday night will become widespread by morning. Lowest temperatures 3 degrees in the north to 7 degrees further south with a moderate, occasionally fresh southerly wind.

Thursday: There'll be rain or showers for most areas on Thursday. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with a moderate to fresh south to southwest wind.

A spell of more persistent rain early Thursday night will clear eastwards to introduce colder conditions with showers, some of sleet on hills. Lowest temperatures of 1 or 2 degrees with a moderate to fresh westerly wind, easing light to moderate.

Friday: Mostly dry with sunny spells on Friday. Cloud will increase in the west and northwest, bringing some showers. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in a moderate to fresh west to southwest wind.

Weekend and beyond: On Saturday rain in the west in the morning will become widespread by afternoon, clearing from the west again later. Highest temperatures 7 to 11 with moderate to fresh southwest winds easing later as the rain clears.

Current indications for the further outlook suggest it will continue unsettled with further spells of rain and breezy conditions at times.
