Laois roads blocked by fallen trees following Storm Eowyn

See our list of Laois roads that remain impassable following Friday's storm

Dungloe to Maghery road will be temporarily closed

The exact location of the road blockage is at Tubberkeen for 600 metres

Local community groups across Laois have spent the morning reporting fallen trees and blocked roads as a result of Storm Eowyn.

The full extent of damage by the status red storm remains unknown, with a yellow warning now in place from 12pm.

So far, these roads have been reported as blocked by fallen trees:

Lea road, Portarlington

Roscrea road, Castlefleming, Errill

The bog road between Monasterevin and Portarlington

Road blocked beyond Portarlington golf club

Road blocked on Portarlington side of Cloneygowan bridge

There’s a tree down just past Stewart’s, The Rock, blocking half the road.

The road from Mountmellick to Emo is impassable.

R422 blocked at Pims on Mountmellick side of Rosenallis and Drummond Road by falling trees

Harbour Street Green- tree down

Tree down at Borris side of donaghmore

Tree down on the N80, 2 kilometres north of Mountmellick

Report of a tree down on the N77 at Grallow, Abbeyleix.

The following regional roads are also impassable: R428 near Castlemitchell and the R422 near Killeen.
