Laois town hit with water shortages by Storm Éowyn

No water on tap for Laois communities thanks to Storm Éowyn

Storm Éowyn power outages have caused water shortages in a Laois town and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann / Irish Water confirmed the details to the Leinster Express / Laois Live, on Friday afternoon, January 24.

Electric pumps at water reservoirs serving the Mountmellick area have been hit by the power outages, affecting water supplies to many customers.

"A power outage may cause supply disruptions to Catholes, Acragar, Rock, Mountmellick and surrounding areas in Co. Laois. Crews are working to have the supply restored as soon as possible. We recommend that you allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return," Uisce Éireann says.
