Met Éireann typo makes weekend weather sound even worse amid grim update
Met Éireann's weather forecast for the remainder of this week and the weekend include a rather grim prediction, made worse by an unfortunate typo on their official website.
The forecast for the weekend warns of unsettled conditions and "blistery" winds as opposed to blustery which is obviously what's being predicted. The relatively good weather of the last few days looks set to come to a severe end, although the wind may not be bad enough to cause blisters.
In their latest forecast, Met Éireann says Wednesday will be a "breezier day everywhere" with mostly fresh southwest winds.
"Staying cloudier across west and northwest areas, with patchy rain and drizzle, turning persistent later. However, elsewhere it will remain dry with sunny spells. Mild for the time of year with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees."
The forecast continues: "Becoming a little breezy then in the evening [Wednesday] with freshening southwest winds. Cloudy too with outbreaks of rain and drizzle along western and northern counties. Dryer elsewhere and some clear breaks developing in the south and east with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.

"A mix of cloudy periods and sunny spells from the morning [on Thursday] but a few showers will develop through the afternoon and continuing into the evening. Southerly winds will be fresh at times too with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.
"A mild night in store but become rather cloudy too with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in a light southerly breeze. The rain will be most persistent across western counties. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.
"Mostly unsettled then for Friday with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Winds will remain a light to moderate southerly although will freshen at times along southern coasts. Another mild day with highs of 10 to 14 degrees.
"Current indications are that the weekend will be unsettled with rain or showers at times and some blistery [sic] winds possible in the south. Some of the showers are likely to be heavy and possibly thundery too. Temperatures are likely to remain rather mild too with highs possibly touching 14 or 15 degrees," the forecast concludes.
