WATCH: Met Éireann's forecasting partner warning of "significant snow" in Ireland #sneachta

Met Éireann's official weather forecasting partner has issued snow warning for 'significant snow' some of which will hit Ireland.

The Met Office in the UK shows snow impacting both the southern and northern parts of the country with the largest amount due by Friday.

The Met Office expects a wintry week as temperatures will be below average most days and below freezing most nights.

"Snow is likely in some places with the risk mostly in the south on Wednesday and then further north towards the end of the week," it says.

The two weather forecasting offices partner on storm predictions and names.
