The event is for people living with heart failure, their families, carers and healthcare professionals .
The Irish Heart Foundation will hold a number of free events for people living with heart failure, their families, carers and healthcare professionals during Heart Failure Awareness Week which takes place from 29th April – 5th May 2024.
On Tuesday, 30th April, a free Living Well with Heart Failure event will take place in-person in the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise from 12-4pm.
People from surrounding areas with an interest in heart failure are invited to attend and will hear from Norma Caples, a Heart Failure Nurse on how to self-manage your symptoms, Ger Walsh, a Self-Management Support Coordinator on how to access services in your community and Fiona Meagher and Pauline O’Shea on living and coping with heart failure. Attendees will meet with others living with heart failure and learn about the free support services available. If you would like to attend this in-person event, please register at irishheart.ie
A number of free online events will take place during the week for heart failure patients including:
Exercise and Heart Failure; Nutrition Essentials in Heart Failure; Mindfulness; Detect the Undetected; Your Essential Guide to Self-Care to Live Well with Heart Failureand Heart Failure: Sorting Fact from Fiction and Understanding the Language.
