Artists for this week's Laois Intercultural Day celebrations have been announced.
Laois Africa Support Group is hosting an event in Portlaoise Parish Centre on Friday, October 18 which will feature cultural dance, multicultural food tasting, art, live music, drama and poetry.
Among the artists set to perform include dancer Bubbleflock, singer Junior Dube, rapper Official Kev, Afro pop with Ola Gerald, Lynam School of Irish Dancing, poetry by Xavier Adeyanju, the spoken word with Tomi Adeyemi and storytelling with Kemi Adeyemi.
"We are inviting you all to come together to celebrate Laois Intercultural Day, we recognize the beauty and richness that diversity brings to our world. This day will remind us of the power of embracing different cultures, traditions, and perspectives. Keep this date in your calendar, there will be food from different countries, artists, spoken words, Art display, Drama etc," said the organisers.
The event in Portlaoise Parish Centre will start on Friday at 5pm.
