The events were due to take place at Emo Court, Laois
Two sold out summer performances at Emo Court and Parklands have been cancelled.
Laois's Emo Court and Parklands had been due to host Romeo and Juliet in mid June and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in early July.
However, both events have now been cancelled as Chapterhouse Theatre Productions has gone into administration.
“We are deeply saddened to announce Chapterhouse Theatre Company has officially ceased trading and, as a result, has cancelled all upcoming performances including our much-anticipated performances of Romeo + Juliet on the evening of Saturday 14th June and Alice's adventures in Wonderland on the evening of Thursday 3rd of July,” Emo Court and Parklands posted on social media.
“We share your disappointment and sincerely apologise to those who were looking forward to this event. All tickets purchased will be fully refunded by us through Eventbrite.
Many thanks for your patience as we organise all refunds. Any queries please contact us at emocourt@opw.ie ,” they stated.
A notice on the website of Chapterhouse Theatre states:
“To whom it may concern,
It is with great regret to inform you that Chapterhouse Theatre has officially ceased trading as of 06/05/2025.
This difficult decision follows extensive consideration and reflects challenges that have made continued operations unsustainable….Thank you for your understanding and support.”
