1916 on screen in Portlaoise's arts centre

The Dunamaise Arts Centre Portlaoise is the venue for an evening on short films and newsreels from 1916 accompanied by live music this weekend as part of Heritage Week.

Heritage Week 1916: A Centenary on Screen takes place on Satuday, August 27, 8pm at the Laois venue.

The Irish Film Institute present a wonderful evening of short films, live-action and animation, re-mastered newsreels & live music inspired by the Rising, its aftermath and influence.

Live musical accompaniment will be provided by harpist Cormac de Barra. The event is presented as part of IFI 1916 – 2016 Centenary Film Programme and supported by Laois County Council and the Ireland 2016 Fund.
