Castletown does Lipsync battle for sports field

Castletown Community Sports Field Development will hold a major fund raising event called “Lip Sync Battles” in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise on Saturday, October 29 at 8pm.

This fundraising drive started the end of August with 10 acts involved, and over 30 people. This group have been meeting every Tuesday and Thursday evening to practice and have put in a lot of hard work to perfect their acts.

“While we will not be revealing the stars/bands they are performing as until the night, we can assure you from what we have seen there will be a great night's entertainment to be had,” say the organisers.

The participants have also been working hard to raise as much money as possible for this, not only by getting sponsorship, but by also holding “mini fundraising” events themselves which has proven to be very successful.

These include coffee morning, childrens disco, car wash, luxury raffle, table quiz etc and we are very grateful for those who have supported the same.

Tickets are €20 each and went on sale Monday 17th October.

They are now on sale in Phelan’s shop, Castletown and Castletown Inn, DeBarbers and Simply Beautiful, Mountrath, from any Committee member (Brendan Peters, Declan Donovan, Breege Walsh, Mattie Cuddy, Olive Cuddy, Mary Treacy) or enquire from any of the participants.

Doors open on the night at 7pm and we would encourage everyone to come early as there are limited number of seats in the function room with standing room outside the function room with TV’s showing the performances.

They look forward to seeing everyone on the night and making this a successful venture.
