Popular singing priest and composer Liam Lawton launches his new CD this month in Graiguecullen.
The Edenderry native, who is based in Carlow, launches his Lumina Volume II on Wednesday, November 30 at 7.30pm in St Clare’s Church. The launch will be followed by a cheese & wine reception in the Graiguecullen parish centre.
All proceeds of CD sales goes to County Carlow Hospice.
Lumina Volume II Instrumental Collection includes such tracks as - The Glendalough Theme, Benedictus, Journey of a Soul, Heal us Lord and Labyrinth and many more.
Liam has recorded 12 albums to date and has achieved Platinum Status for his recordings on the EMI label.
Much of Liam’s inspiration is drawn from the landscape of Ireland with its own unique and rich history. His music has been used in many an auspicious occasions ie The Memorial Services of 9/11 to Concerts in such places as the Vatican, The White House and The Chicago Symphony Hall.
Liam’s choral music is used by choirs all over the world and has been translated and recorded in Spanish, German and Swedish and in the Irish language. Many well known artists both at home and abroad have recorded his songs.
Coming from a life in Ministry Liam has been closely associated with a number of charities and through his live musical performance he continues to raise much needed funds whenever possible.
