A new Christmas story written and illustrated by Portlaoise based artist Robert Stack is now available, a perfect present for readers of all ages.

‘Two Minutes to Midnight’ is a short illustrated story which tells the tale of Kris Krinkle (a Christmas elf, loosely related to Santa Claus) who is responsible for all the things that go wrong in houses all over the world on Christmas morning.

The story also shows what happens when Krinkle is finally confronted by an irate Saint Nick. Though intended as a children's story, the book can be appreciated by anyone who has ever had a Christmas that did not quite go as planned.

This is the first book by Robert Stack, an American artist who has been living in Co. Laois for the past 14 years. His watercolours of the local scenery have been exhibited regularly in galleries in the area, and can currently be seen at Seasons Bistro in Portlaoise.

‘Two Minutes to Midnight’ is now for sale at Allbooks Portlaoise, priced €10, and will be available to borrow at Laois County Libraries. It can also be purchased at www.etsy.com/shop/
