Portlaoise band back suicide charity Pieta House with new single 'Better Days Ahead'

Strength in Numbers was true of the people of Laois who came in to support suicide awareness as local band Strength In Numbers (SIN) launched a CD to fundraise for Pieta House.

The band's new song is titled Better Days Ahead and it proved to be a big hit with the audience at its launch in Kavangh's Portlaoise.

There was no cover charge to see the band but everyone who attended was asked for €5 for a copy of the new CD.

A video that accompanies the song was shot in Portlaoise and features several well known people from the locality along with several well known characters.

“From sponsorship and sales of the CD on the night we have so far raised very close to €1,500 for Pieta House. The video that we shot in Portlaoise to highlight the situation will soon be used to further promote the CD in a bid to enhance the funds that we can raise for this fantastic charity,” he said.

A monster raffle took place on the night with the ticket sales going to Pieta House.

The CD can be purchased from All Books and News in Lyster Square, Trax in the Laois Shopping Centre and Anthem Music, Uppr Main St all in Portlaoise. The song is also available to download from iTunes and Google play.

Pieta House operates suicide bereavement counselling centres and suicide bereavement liaison services. The charity runs a centre in Roscrea.
