Christmas is all wrapped up at the Dunamaise Arts Centre

Dunamaise Arts Centre is proud to announce that for the first time it will offer Pre-Theatre Christmas Party Dinners for four nights on Friday 8 December at ABBA Forever The Christmas Show; on Sunday 17 and Tuesday 19 December at Phil Coulter and Thur 21 December at Emer Quinn O Holy Night Christmas Concert.

The delicious menu on offer, prepared and served by Caffe Latte within Dunamaise Arts Centre will include a tasty three course meal and combined with the top quality arts events will make a unique and unforgettable Christmas celebration.

Dunamaise Arts Centre presents a wonderful array of events this Christmas season and beyond. There is something for young and old in this year’s programme of festivities.

For the young and young at heart, shows to look forward to this festive season range from Christmas family movie The Muppets Christmas Carol on Saturday 23 December to Talisman Theatre’s Rudolph Saves Christmas on Saturday 16 December at 12pm and and 2pm and Bosco meets Hansel and Gretel on Saturday 6 January 2018.

Portlaoise Pantomime Group will present Beauty and the Beast, the Panto from Saturday 20 to Saturday 27 January.

Music lovers and those on the lookout for a memorable Christmas night out can tap their feet and sing-a-long to the best party in town with ABBA Forever on Friday 8 December.

One of the biggest recording artists of all time – Phil Coutler will perform for two nights due to his first show selling out on Sunday 17 and then Tuesday 19 December.

Eurovision winner Eimear Quinn will present a fabulous intimate and spiritual evening on Thursday 21 December in O Holy Night - A Christmas Concert.

The inimitable and much loved Jack Lukeman will return to Dunamaise on Friday 5 January for one night only.

Theatre and comedy fans can look forward to the hilarious play Boom by Isobel Mahon (Glenroe) on Sunday 3 December, featuring a host of well known television and theatre personalities including Claudia Carroll (Fair City), Rose Henderson (Glenroe, Father Ted) to name a couple.

The evening will also feature a gin cocktail making demo and various health and beauty stalls.

Ireland’s national Ballet company, Ballet Ireland will present Romeo & Juliet on Tuesday 5 December and will be a beautiful retelling of Shakespeare’s tale, set to the wonderful score by Prokofiev.

Cinema fans can also look forward to A Man Called Ove on Wednesday 6 December and the ultimate nostalgic Christmas movie – as voted for by the public – White Christmas, which will be screened on Wednesday 20 December at 11am and 8pm and will be followed by festive refreshments and treats.

Dunamaise Arts Centre are delighted to announce brand new additions to it’s New Year programme including You Don’t Bring Me Flowers on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 January starring the hilarious Katherine Lynch and whole host of other guests.

Sharon Shannon will perform an acoustic gig on Saturday 16 January and the much loved Frances Black will join forces with Kieran Goss on Friday 19 January and the inimitable Dominic Kirwan will return due to popular demand on Thursday 3 March for one night only.
