This year see’s the return of the Ballyroan Vintage Club for its 28th Annual Rally.

This year’s rally will be held on Sunday the 13th of May, starting at 12 noon.

As usual the rally will take place in the G.A.A pitch.A large display of all things vintage can be expected, including cars, tractors, lorries, motorbikes and stationary engines.

The Rally is delighted to have a threshing return this year, after a break for the past couple of years. They will also be hosting a dog show which has brought big crowds in the past, with rosettes to be won in lots of categories, so make sure to get there early to register.

There will be no shortage of food, with burgers and chips, and pig and colcannon, the pig of course being cooked on the spit over a hot coal fire. There will be lots to see and do on the day with lots of stalls and amusements for the kids.

There will be something for all the family. Admission is only €5, and kids are free. The club would like to thank all those who help us out during the year and on the day of the rally.

In particular all those who sponsor the day and the G.A.A for the use of facilities on the day and the clubhouse all year round. They would also like to make a special mention to all those who have helped raise money at their road runs in the past year.

The road run for the Friends of Abbeyleix Hospital Patient comfort fund raised €6,000, while the Tom Kinsella memorial road run on St Stephen’s morning raised €2,000 for Nascoil Kantara early intervention autism unit in Timahoe.

All of this requires work and commitment from all of the club members, and the club is always open to new members. The Ballyroan Vintage Club hope to see a great crowd on the day, and hopefully some sunshine as well.

Anyone wishing to book in a stall or with any queries can contact Dan on 087- 6888636 or Harry on 087- 2857270.
