Canine capers in this week's Dunamaise cinema

The Isle of Dogs is this week’s big screen offering from the Dunamaise Arts Centre and children wil get a chance to meet a special four-legged friend as part of the screening.

In this stop-motion-animated film, an outbreak of canine flu leads to all the dogs of Megasaki City being exiled to Trash Island.

12-year-old Atari sets off alone and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots.

There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.

There will be a special guest on the day, with a chance to meet the LSPCA puppy before the movie.

Directed by Wes Anderson, the voice cast features Bryan Cranston, Koyu Rankin, Edward Norton, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Bob Balaban, Greta Gerwig, and Yoko Ono.

The Isle of Dogs screens at the Dunamaise Arts Centre this Saturday, August 25.
