Condolences to the family of the late Fr Roger Rafter of the Pallottine Fathers, Thurles, Tipperary and late of Clonmeen, Rathdowney who died on November 3. Deeply regretted by his brother Jim, sisters Irene and Sheila, extended family, friends and the Pallottine Community. Reposed at the Pallottine College, Thurles on Tuesday, November 4 from 4.30pm to 7.30pm with removal immediately afterwards to the Community Chapel for Funeral Mass. Burial after Mass in the Pallottine Community Cemetery, Cabra, Thurles.
Late Dan Delahunty
Condolences to the family of the late Daniel (Dan) Delahunty of The Square, Rathdowney and formerly Cullohill who died on November 3 peacefully at Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Nancy and his family, Alma, Donal, Simon, Carolyn, Anthony and Peter, his brother Fr T.P. Delahunty, his sister Julie (Bergin), extended family, relatives and friends. Reposed at his residence, The Square, Rathdowney. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney, followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery. Donations to Laois Alzheimers Society in memory of Dan.

A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.
There was no winner in this week’s Jackpot which was €6,250. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 19, 28. The 10 winners of €15 were Betty Delaney, Jimmy Cormack, Martin O’ Brien, Mgt Campion, Cathy Fitzgerald, Jennifer Bowe, Mary Bergin, Tom Carroll, Willie Bowe, Nellie Bergin. Next week’s Jackpot will be €6,400. Tickets can be purchased in all shops or from any local promoter.
The Annual Auction of Rathdowey/Errill GAA will take place on Sunday November 23, in St. Bernadette’s Hall, Errill. This annual event has always been a huge success for the club with items from firewood to keep you warm during the winter to sports equipment to keep you going during the summer. On the day there will be a cake sale with alot of delicious home baking. Our Wheel Of Fortune has proven to be very popular for young and old. Santa will be arriving in style at 1pm and the Auction will follow very shortly after that. Our senior hurlers will also make an appearance if any families would like to have their picture taken with the Bob O’ Keeffe Trophy. Tea and Coffee will be on the go all day to keep you warm. So come along for a very enjoyable day with a few bargains to be got also.
