The late Paula Byrne
Sincere sympathy is extended to the Kavanagh and Dooley families of Windsor and Butterisland on the sudden and untimely death of Paula Byrne (nee Delaney) of Mountrath.
Paula was aged 61 and died suddenly on Tuesday, January 13. She was sister of Mairead Kavanagh and Breda Dooley. Having reposed at her residence where rosary was recited on Wednesday and Thursday her remains were removed to St Fintan’s Church Mountrath for Requiem Mass on Friday morning with burial taking place in the adjoining cemetery.
Chief mourners are her husband Ollie, sons Dara, Oisin and Fionn daughter Brona, brothers James and Fintan, sisters Breda and Mairead, aunt, daughter-in-law Samantha, Brothers-in-law Gerry and Tim, sister-in-law, grandchildren Olivia and Lucy, extended family neighbours and friends May she rest in peace.
After a recent robbery in the community the local branch of Community alert ask people to be on the alert at all times and to note the registration of any strange vehicles on the road, please keep an eye on elderly neighbours.
Evening Mass in Ballaghmore
As and from now there will be an evening Mass celebrated in St Moluas Church Ballaghmore until further notice and will commence at 7.30pm
Camross juvenile GAA Club held a very enjoyable supper and presentation of medals in the Parish centre.
The event took place on Friday January 9th special guests on the evening were John Carroll of Shrahane long time servant of Laois Leinster and Camross who was recently inducted into the Laois GAA Hall of fame and Pakie Cuddy of Northgrove recently honoured with the Laois junior player of the year.
The two guests got a great reception and both spoke at the delight in being asked to present the medals.
Several presentations were made from U8 up to U16 and at the conclusion of the evening the players made presentations to the special guests.
Fr John Lalor was present and he spoke of the importance of juvenile club, as they will be the seniors of tomorrow.
After the presentations and photographs were taken the attendance was treated to supper prepared by the ladies committee and if you would like to view the photographs they can be seen on the Camross facebook page.

CCÉ Camross wishes all its pupils, teachers, families and supporters a very happy and healthy New Year.
Thanks to all those who attended the annual Christmas Concert and thanks to those who donated spot-prizes, food etc. Your support and generosity is very much appreciated. The children want to say a big thank you to Santa Claus who dropped into Camross Hall on the evening to listen to a few tunes and carols.
New Committee Elected
Congratulations to all those who have been elected onto the committee at the recent Branch A.G.M. Catherine Lalor has been elected as chairperson and best wishes to Catherine and all the committee for the coming year.
Camross Comhaltas Harp and Adult Guitar lessons
From Monday, January 19, Harp lessons will be available for all ages and all standards including beginners.
Adult guitar lessons will also take place on Monday evenings in Camross Hall.
