Laois charity offers financial help for third-level students

Laois-Offaly TD wants local students to 'tell their stories' of grants system

Saving for college?

St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) Abbeyleix will be accepting applications for education grants this current year.

The conference says the Society of SVP recognises the importance of further education, however, they say that for many people accessibility and affordability are real barriers to obtaining a third-level education and training.

The Abbeyleix conference says the SVP Education and Training Bursary Fund has been established to support students of all ages who may financially struggle to access or stay in third-level education and training programmes.

The Bursary Programme will consider all recognised third-level education and training programmes for funding. However, postgraduate studies (Master or PhD) or private colleges are not eligible.

Students must demonstrate that they have applied for all available state funding or other grants.

Any queries in this regard please contact St. Vincent de  Paul on the dedicates education phone number  085 2575782

Abbeyleix SVP says all calls and applications are treated in strict confidence.
