Laois Hospice wants your support for Sunflower Day

Sunflower Day in aid of Laois Hospice has been officially launched in the Cuisle Centre in Portlaoise and the organisers hope the public will get behind the vital fundraiser.

Laois Hospice Foundation members were joined by Bishops Niall Coll, Adrian Wilkinson and Msgr John Byrne at the cancer support centre near Portlaoise hospital on Thursday, June 1.

 The Sunflower Day collection takes place on Friday, June 9.

Apart from appealing for donations, volunteers are sought to help with the collection on the day. If you have please contact Mary Delaney on 086 8157280 or Mary Finlay on 087 2968433.

Laois Hospice says all monies collected on the day will stay in Laois to fund the much-needed hospice home care services in Laois.

The launch was attended by Laois Hospice members Irene Murray, Mary Delaney (Chairperson), Mary Finlay (Treasurer), Helen Kavanagh, Enda Thompson Phelan, Anne Buggie, Liam Holohan and Jennifer Mc Kay Bishop Niall Coll, Bishop of Ossory, Bishop Adrian Wilkinson, Bishop of Cashel and Ossory, and Monsignor John Byrne, PP Portlaoise.
