After a stormy morning, the clouds parted and the sun shone as Daniel and Majella O'Donnell officially opened the new Community Garden at The Shrine in Rathdowney.
The star was delighted to return to the Laois town with his wife where he has made many friends and about which he sings. 'Lovely Rathdowney', by the late great Rathdowney man Danny Haverty, was among the many tunes at a free concert at the opening on June 28.
