The Portarlington Croagh Patrick climbers
A hardy crew Portarlington headed west recently to climb the famous reek - Croagh Patrick - in of the Laois Offaly town's vital Meals on Wheels service.
The committee extended thanks to all involved especially the Burbage clan.
"On behalf of the committee of Port Meals on Wheels we would like to give a big thank you to the Burbage family and all who took part in the annual climb to Croagh Patrick. This brilliant fundraiser is happening for past 12 years with all donations going to different charities.
"The Port Meals on Wheels were so grateful to be picked this year. Thanks to all who donated & were involved in any way.
"As you know Meals on Wheels is running in Portarlington over 50 years. Last year we cooked and delivered over 10,000 meals.
"Thank you again to the public for your continued support to the Service," said the committee.
A total sum of €5,515 was raised.
