If you are looking for a bargain, or to declutter your home for the New Year, the perfect chance is on the way in Laois this January, and for a good cause.

Cullohill Community Centre is gathering up donations for its annual big auction and it promises to be a great day filled with community spirit, as well as bargain, tea and cakes.

"This year’s auction will be held on Sunday, January 28th, at 1.30pm.

"We are asking each household and business to offer or donate good quality items such as firewood (or a tree), agricultural goods, toys, vouchers, household goods and furniture to be auctioned on the day.

"We will also hold a cake sale on the day so we will be very grateful for your donations or cakes and home baking."

You can drop your items to the Community Centre on the afternoon of Saturday, January 27.

The community centre is at the heart of the south Laois village, home to the Folly Festival. It has been extended and renovated and is busy each night with events and clubs, including a new Squid Games fundraiser, card games, yoga, soccer, pilates, Foroige and Comhaltas.
