Killeshin community centre and digital hub.

The community of Killeshin village in Laois will gather to celebrate a special day on Friday, June 7.

The Official opening of Killeshin Community Centre and Digital Hub Hybrid Workspace will be taking place at 11.30am.

It will be officially opened by Minister of State Sean Fleming.

The new digital hub workspace can accommodate 20 people who wish to avail of remote working facilities in Killeshin.

It is phase two in the development of the impressive centre, built on the site of the old school. The hub was funded by a €500,000 grant from The Town & Village Renewal Scheme.

The community centre was set up for the people of Killeshin following the relocation of Killeshin NS, and is overseen by a voluntary committee.

It has developed into a vital village community and business hub with businesses on site include The Den Community Childcare, Fifty Shades Hair Lounge, Killeshin Tea Rooms, Killeshin Healing Rooms featuring PK Injury Rehabilitation Clinic, Cre8 Art and Music Studio, Jane Eyre Bookkeeping, Fitnesse Fit Bootcamp and Killeshin Stores.

The community centre also encompasses both Killeshin GAA and Killeshin FC, and is home to Killeshin Pipe Band.

The event is by invitation only due to space restrictions.
