Laois Hospice Foundation acknowledged and very sincerely thanked all the people who so generously supported their two recent fundraising events.
“Fundraisers such as these enable Laois Hospice to continue to provide palliative/hospice homecare services in the community to patients who are reaching end of life and wish to live out their time in the comfort of their own home with love and dignity surrounded by their loved ones,” said Laois Hospice Chairperson, Mary Delaney.
Laois Hospice also provides funding towards bereavement counselling, alternative therapies, lymph drainage services, carer services, nursing and further education and training for the palliative care team. Laois Hospice continually strives to fund the development of new services as funds provide.
“In Laois Hospice we fundraise to provide comfort, care and dignity to patients and their families at their most vulnerable time. It is about providing total care of patients and their family at a time when the medical expectation is no longer a cure. Laois Hospice continue to strive to fund specialist palliative/hospice care services thus ensuring that people who are coping with life limiting illness, death or bereavement can access appropriate services at the right time in the right setting,” Ms Delaney explained.

“This of course can only be achieved by the hard work and commitment of the many fundraising groups who fundraise in aid of Laois Hospice throughout the county of Laois. We acknowledge and thank all of the fundraisers and all who support these fundraising events because without such generosity Laois Hospice could not fund such services,” she remarked.
The next national fundraising campaign is the Bewley's Big Coffee Morning for Hospice which takes place on Thursday, September 26 - but supporters can host or attend one on a date that suits them, with every cent raised locally staying locally. So Laois Hospice is asking everyone to get brewing on September 26.
Laois Hospice committee is made up of voluntary directors and members and all funds raised are devoted to provision and development of palliative/hospice care services in the community to patients and their families. All funds raised locally stay local.
