Cullohill Community Centre
The doors of households in the Cullohill area of Laois are being knocked not for votes by a local committee which is seeking their support for their community centre.
Cullohill Community Centre Committee members are visiting local households looking for support and donations for the centre which has undergone extensive renovation in recent years.
With an open night also planned, the committee says the Centre is increasingly busier but this costs.
"With ongoing running costs, finances are always a challenge so all support greatly appreciated," said a note to the community which is located on the old Cork to Dublin road.
The Committee says the following are the main activities / offerings but new suggestions always welcome:
Study hub; Pilates; Comhaltas; Cards - 25’s / Bridge; Child Minding; Foróige; Homework Club; Sensory Classes; Speech & Drama Classes; Circuit Training; Flower Club; Indoor Soccer; Auction; Hip Hop Dancing; Irish Dancing; Taekwando; Christmas Social Night; Handball; Squash; Personal Training / Mini-Gym; Choice of meeting rooms also available on request.
To help inform the people about what the Centre has to offer and support needed an open evening takes place on Friday evening, November 8, 8pm to 9pm.
The Committee says this will be an opportunity to view the facility as well as enjoy light refreshments. To conclude that evening, there will be a draw for €200 in fuel vouchers for all who have paid their membership.
