Successful participants in the 2023 Swim for a Mile programme by Laois Partnership at Ballinakill pool.
Ballinakill Community Development Association is running a bottle and can fundraising drive to raise funds for ongoing developments at the amenity park and the Ballinakill outdoor swimming pool. The outdoor pool is opened seasonally from June to September.
The group is encouraging the public to donate their re-turn logo drinks containers to the cause.
"Our fundraising efforts are making a SPLASH with over over 500 bottles and cans recycled and €100 raised so far," said a spokesperson for the group.
"Funds raised go directly towards ongoing developments at the amenity park and Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool and your continued support is appreciated. If you're doing a post-Christmas clear out, just give us a call and we'll come to you to collect or, alternatively, drop off into our designated bin in town - every little helps."
The drop off point is Jollytots Playschool Monday to Friday 9am to 12.30pm. For collection call Rosie on 0874445274 to arrange when convenient.
