The Portlaoise Plaza’s Colm Mulrooney handed over a check for €,000 on behalf of the Plaza Group to Santa and Mrs Clause in aid of Laura Lynn Foundation.
A visit by the Santa Truck to Laois at Christmas has raised vital funds for LauraLynn Ireland's Children's Hospice.
The family festive favourite stopped at Portlaoise Plaza off the M7 just days before Christmas following its tour of Ireland. In exchange for a donation, attendees could visit Santa, Mrs Claus, and the Elves in the truck's built-in grotto.
LauraLynn is Ireland’s only children’s hospice and provides specialised palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, both at its hospice facility and through community care programmes across Ireland.
Colm Mulrooney of the Portlaoise Plaza presented a cheque for €1,000 on behalf of the Plaza Group, which is owned by Supermac's boss Pat McDonagh, to Santa and Mrs Clause in aid of LauraLynn Foundation following the visit on December 20.
The money presented following the Portlaoise stop adds to the more than € 130k raised by the Santa Truck since 2021 for LauraLynn.
The Truck also visited Portarlington during its journey around Ireland.
