Annual Outing of the Stradbally Flower & Garden Club is on Saturday, June 30 to The Altamiont Gardens in Tullow with guided tour of the Walled in Garden then on to Nicholas Mosse Pottery, Kilkenny Castle and winding up the day with a three course meal in River Court Hotel Kilkenny. There will also be some stops on the way for refreshments. Stradbally parish gaels u/14s are holding a table quiz in Dunnes Pub, Stradbally on Friday, June 1. The cost of a table is €40 and all proceeds raised on the night will go towards the cost of hosting the Feile 2012 as the parish prepares for a visit of New York. All support greatly appreciated. Raffle on the night, prizes include 2 tickets for Leinster Senior Football Final and 2 Leinster Hurling.

The Irish Steam Preservation Society’s Narrow Gauge Railway ‘Stradbally Woodland Express’ will have full steam up and running on the June Bank Holiday weekend, Sunday 3 and Monday 4 from 1.30pm to 4.30p-m. at The Lawn, Stradbally.


Work and clean up nights have started and if you would like to help and join our crew why not come down the town from 7.00pm to 9.00pm every Tuesday Night.

All you need is a pair of gloves, brush, and a smile. Enjoy the chat and banter as we try to make an effort for this years tidy towns.


This Wednesday, May 30th is proposed date for our area finals to be held as usual in the Lawn. Registration will be at 6 pm and first race for u/6s to off by 6.45. All children u/6 to u/16 welcome to compete from the Stradbally,Timahoe and Vicarstown area. Medal winners [including fourth placed] will go fordward as part of the Stradbally area team to compete in the Laois finals to be held in St Abbans sports complex on June 10th. Last year over 50 children competed for our area, it would be great to repeat this involvmentThursday 31st we will hold the Long Puck, Ball Throw a Shot Putt competitions,for u12/14 competitors starting at 7pm. Stradbally Youth Centre are looking for your support as we are holding a Race Night to raise much needed funds in order to keep our doors open.

Stradbally youth Centre has been opened now for one year and we have provided a great service to and for our young people by giving them a safe and supervised place to meet, chat ,play games and develop personal skills. Our Race Night is being held in Nappers Tandys on Saturday, June 2. We are hoping that you will support us by either sponsoring a race for a cost of €50 or buying a horse for €20. Stradbally Family Fair will be held at The Lawn on Sunday, July 1.


Every Saturday from 10am-12.30pm. Selling home baking, sweet and savoury, vegetables, preserves, crafts, jewellery etc. Tea and coffee also served on the morning, so go along and have a look around.


Come along to the Arthouse and Library, Stradbally for a morning of fun and craft. Faciliated by an artist, this group offers an opportunity for your toddler to meet up and play with other children, take part in an art activity and for you to have a tea or coffee with other parents. Digital Television switch over is on October 24. You may have seen the adverts for Saorview. In the next few weeks a Community Outreach Digital Switchover Programme will be launch to help those who may need some help in understanding and making the change.This will mean that we will be working with the Programme in our area TO AVOID callers to your home claiming to be checking your T.V. We would ask you all not to accept calls or inspections of your house and do not allow anyone to remove aerials or to hand over any money. If you have any questions on Digital Television Switchover then just ring Lo-call 1890940980. Saoirview have no agents or callers so anyone who calls to you claiming to be checking or working on the change over should be ask to leave and take any details you can and pass on to our local Garda. Do not allow them into your home or to remove your aerials.We would ask you to contact your neighbours and those who are living alone to make sure that they have heard and are aware of the Lo-call contact number.


Next whist drive will take place on Friday, June 15 commencing at 8.30pm sharp and all welcome.


T&S Utd are holding a soccer camp at our grounds in Timahoe. The camp is on Saturday afternoons, and started on Saturday, May 26, and will run every Saturday afternoon from then on (with a break on Saturday, June 23 for the feile) and ending on Saturday, June 30. Sessions for each age group will be an hour and a half in duration. (2.00pm to 3.30pm) Boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14 are eligible to register and take part. All kids must wear shin guards and football boots. The Soccer camp will be led by former underage Irish International footballer Paul Cahillane. Paul played for Ireland from U15 up to U19 level. He has spent 3 years at Celtic FC. If you would like your child to take part, please send a text to 0876185492 and include your full name, mobile number, your child’s name and date of birth. If there are enough people interested, a text will be sent with details of the camp registration date and venue. The fee for the camp is €25 per child.
