The voluntary work in Laois communities was praised by representatives of the People First Credit Union, which is the corporate sponsor of the Laois Community and Voluntary Awards.

Clive Davis is Chairperson of the Portlaoise headquartered Laois / Kildare credit union. He addressed the gala awards held at the Midlands Park Hotel.

“I’m honoured to stand before you as Chairman of People First Credit Union, and as someone who deeply understands the value of volunteering. Like many of you, I’ve been privileged to work with numerous community groups through my involvement in over 20 voluntary committees. Tonight, in 2025, is a special celebration of that spirit - of the dedication, time, and heart you all put into making our community a better place to live,” he said.

Mr Davis congratulated all of the nominees for their “incredible” work.

“Our community wouldn't be the same without the selfless efforts of volunteers like you, whether it's organising events, running local services, or simply helping neighbours. Your impact is immeasurable,” he said.

Mr Davis said People First Credit Union is proud to sponsor the Awards.

“Just as you support our communities, we are here to support you,” he said.

Carol Murphy, Marketing Manager, thanked Laois County Council and Laois PPN for partnering on the awards. MORE BELOW TABLE OF NOMINEES.
