Woodenbridge Paddlers canoe practice continues weekly and will continue until Sunday September 16 when we will hold our annual sponsored duathlon in aid of the Make Believers.
This event will also be held in association with Kilkenny River Festivals. The event will get underway from the Woodenbridge at 11.30am canoe/cycle at the half way point Broken Weir Ballyragget 2pm activities will include juvenile canoeing and fly fishing demonstration refreshments will also be served here before continuing to the finish in Cullahill where entertainment will be held in O’Connell’s at 5.30pm approx.

Late Larry Fitzpatrick
Durrow/Cullohill Parish and surrounding parishes were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Larry Fitzpatrick Tubberboe. His died on Saturday August 11 in Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise having being sick for only one week.
He was 84 years old and was the last surviving member of his family.
He was pre deceased by his brothers Michael and Jim and his sister-in law Patty. He is survived by his nephews and his niece. His remains reposed at his home in Tubberboe and removal took place on Sunday evening to the Holy Trinity Church Durrow.
Burial took place after Requiem Mass on Monday in Durrow cemetery. Larry was a keen hurler in his younger days and won many county titles with Cullohill. Deepest Sympathy is extended to the Fitzpatrick family on their sad loss.

Durrow/Cullohill parish anglers held a Pike fishing competition for the O’Duinn cup on Sunday. Winner was Mick Walsh, 2nd Tommy Coffey 3rd Ian Drennan.
