Welldone to all who helped with the organisation of the Laois Fleadh which took place in Clonaslee over the June Bank Holiday Weekend. The village was sun drenched to welcome a wealth of talent from all around Laois. Congrats and well done to all the local competitors.

Work evenings are Tuesday & Thursday each week starting at 6 pm from the Heritage Centre. Huge amount of work needs to be done for this year’s competition. We would appreciate more help as the few are trying to do the best they can. Please use the bins provided to dispose of your litter and butts.
The Laois Age Friendly Strategy will be launched on Tuesday June 14 at 2:00 pm in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, Abbeyleix. The Retired TD Mary O’Rourke and Cathaoirleach Catherine Fitzgerald will launch the Strategy and this will be followed by a Tea Dance and music will be by Paddy Bracken, Clara. Notification will be sent out to all Active Retirement Groups and ICA Groups but for anyone not affiliated to a group – all over 55’s will be very welcome. The 15th Annual Laois Walks Festival takes place from July 1-31. The event The event feature 25 walks in 25 locations with a number in the Slieve Blooms. Late Pat Dooley
Condolences to the family of the late Patrick Joseph (Pat) Dooley, Tinnahinch, Clonaslee formerly Clonduff, Rosenallis who died on June 3, peacefully after a short illness at the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Predeceased by his wife Sheila. Deeply regretted by sister Rita, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposed at home. Removal to St Manman's Church, Clonaslee for Funeral Mass followed by burial in St Brigid's Cemetery, Rosenallis.
