BALLYQUAID MASS PIT
The annual Mass at the Mass Pit in Ballyquaid, Ballybrophy will be celebrated on Monday evening August 15, the feast of the Assumption. This ancient and historic place of worship was restored eleven years ago and the annual Mass serves to remind us of the sacrifices and risks made by our ancestors in order to attend Mass during Penal times. Please note that there will be no morning Mass in Killasmeestia Church on that day.
There will be Adoration in the Convent Oratory from 8-10 p.m on this Thursday evening.
Next Friday is the First Friday. Evening Mass in Borris-In-Ossory at 7.30pm. Benediction after Mass.
Sister Regina will bring Holy Communion to the sick.

St Vincent De Paul Collection will be taken up at all Masses next week-end 6th and 7th August.
Sympathy is extended to Elizabeth Moore and family, Borris-in-Ossory on the death of her mother, the late Margaret (Peg) Cuddy, (nee Moore), Cappanaclough, Shanahoe, and late of Mounthall, Camross, Co. Laois. Her death took place on Saturday 23 July 2016 (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family. Her remains reposed at her home in Cappanaclough until removal on Monday morning to St Brigid's Church, Shanahoe, for Funeral Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
The late Peg is deeply regretted by her family, Breda, Billy, Fintan, Elizabeth, Margaret, Jimmy, Patricia, Fiona, Martin, Reggie and Fergal. brother Dan, sisters Kathleen, Patricia and Gabrielle, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Sympathy is extended to Mrs Josephine Sweeney, Rathmore, Ballybrophy and all the Sweeney family on the sad death of her grandson, the late Tiernan Hunter – McGowan, Ballinglanna House, Glanmire, Co. Cork. His death took place at his home on Friday July 22, in the loving care of his family. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Monday July 25 in the Sacred Heart Church, Glounthaune, Co, Cork after which his remains were brought for burial to Killasmeestia Cemetery, Borris-In-Ossory, Co.Laois.
The late Tiernan, who died after a terminal illness bravely borne, is deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents Thomas and Winifred (nee Sweeney, Rathmore), his adored brother Cillian and sister Caoimhe, his two grandmothers Josephine Sweeney and Philomena McGowan, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
