Blessing for Coláiste Ros Cré students

Roscrea students have been urged to seek help in times of difficulty, at the recent Blessing for the Academic year, for Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré in St Crónan’s Church.

The theme of the service was ‘The Road’, and celebrant Father Lorcan reminded the students not to be afraid to ask for help when they encounter difficulties along the road in life, because there is always somebody to help.

The Art Department and Transition Years had created a beautiful road display, and a student from every year group lay a candle along this road, while Father Lorcan named some challenges often faced by each year.

The choir sang ‘Lean on Me’, ‘Bless the Broken Road’, ‘He Ain’t Heavy’ and ‘May The Road Rise’.

Principal O Connor spoke about his hopes for this academic year, quoting Winston Churchill ‘A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty’.

The Student Council and Prefects were presented with their badges.
